The Firm concentrates its practice in complex civil litigation, especially consumer rights, shareholder and fiduciary litigation.

ANN MILLER, a founding member of the firm, is a 1968 graduate of Wellesley College and a 1977 graduate of Villanova Law School. She is admitted to the bars of the United States District Court of the Eastern District of Pennsylvania, the United States Court of Appeals for the Third Circuit, the United States Court of Appeals for the Eleventh Circuit, the United States Court of Appeals for the Tenth Circuit and the Supreme Court of the United States. While at Villanova University Law School she co-authored An Example of Judicial Legislation: The Third Circuit's Expansion of the Freedom of Information Act to Include Union Authorization Cards, 23 Villanova L. Rev. 751 (1977-78).

Ms. Miller has substantial experience in the prosecution and defense of complex civil litigation including RICO, securities, contracts, estates and trusts, consumer and ERISA litigation as well as consumer, shareholder and derivative class action litigation.

Ms. Miller has substantial experience in the prosecution and defense of complex civil litigation including RICO, TILA, FLSA, FCRA, RESPA, securities, contracts, insurance coverage, estates and trusts, consumer and ERISA litigation, as well as consumer, shareholder and derivative class action litigation.

Ms. Miller has played a prominent role in complex litigation matters in the securities and derivative litigation area in the following cases, among others: Sowell v. Butcher & Singer, et al., Civil Action No. 84-0714 (E.D. Pa.); In Re Allegheny International Inc. Shareholder Litigation, Civil Action No. 86-035 (W.D. Pa.); Holtz v. National Business Systems, Inc., Civil Action No. 88-1755 (D.N.J.); In Re Bexar County Health Facilities Development Corporation Securities Litigation, MDL Docket No. 768 (E.D. Pa.); Shields v. Erickson, et al., Civil Action No. 88 C 8207 (N.D. Ill.); In Re Philadelphia Electric Company Derivative Litigation, Philadelphia Court of Common Pleas, March Term, 1987, No. 7090; In Re Sunterra Corporation Securities Litigation, Civil Action No. 6:00-cv-79-Orl-28DAB (M.D. FL); S.L. In the employment and ERISA area, Ms. Miller has represented a union health and welfare fund against a prominent health care insurer asserting claims under, inter alia, RICO which resulted in a multi-million dollar settlement. She is co-counsel and presently litigating a case on behalf of the Wal-Mart ERISA Plan against Wal-Mart and the plan fiduciaries for failing to make required plan contributions on behalf of the plan participants.

Ms. Miller has had a substantial role in prosecuting RICO claims against a law firm and its principal attorney on behalf of the firm's clients in In Re Weinfeld Kaplan & Troiani, P.C., a/k/a Weinfeld & Kaplan, P.C., MDL 875 Case No. 95-0039. This litigation resulted in substantial recovery for the former clients of that firm. Ms. Miller is presently prosecuting RICO claims on behalf of Pennsylvania consumers against three title insurance companies, Coleman, et al. v. Commonwealth Land Title Insurance Company, Civil Action No. 09-679 (E.D. Pa.); Levine, et al. v. First American Title Insurance Company, Civil Action No. 09-842 (E.D. Pa.); and Schwartz, et al. v. Lawyers Title Insurance Company, Civil Action No. 09-841 (E.D. Pa.).

In the financial services area, Ms. Miller has litigated claims arising from the sale of tax relief services, home financing and the force placement of insurance, among other things, serving as co-lead counsel in several cases that have resulted in significant recoveries. Ms. Miller is co-counsel in a class action against J.K. Harris & Company on behalf of a class of customers of that firm which recently resulted in a multi-million dollar settlement.
